Secondary School Applications
Information below is for pupils in Year 6 in the academic year 2020/21:
From Tuesday 1 September 2020
An information leaflet is distributed to parents/carers by primary schools or posted for Kirklees children attending a primary school in another local authority.

Applications can be made from this date. All applications must be made online.
September and October 2020
Open evenings are held for the majority of secondary schools in Kirklees.

This is the closing date for applications. Remember that a late application can severely reduce your chances of obtaining a place at your preferred school.
Monday 1 March 2021
Parents/carers can log on to the Kirklees parent portal from 08:30 am to see their offer of a school place and an email offer will be sent during the day to the email address the parent/carer used when submitting their application.
Monday 12th April 2021
The last day for requesting an appeal for starting community and voluntary controlled schools in September 2021. Academies, free schools, trust schools and voluntary aided schools may have different closing dates for appeals. You must contact them directly.
May 2021 onwards
Appeal hearings take place.
