Children's University

At St Peter's, we take part in the Children's University. When children enter Year 1 they are given a Children's University 'Passport to Learning.' Children are then encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities and undertake out of school activities to earn hours. At the end of the year, the hours are collected and turned into awards. There are a variety of awards for children to gain, from a bronze award to a post graduate degree.

Past events

2018 - 2019

During the summer term, some of our pupils were invited to the Children's University Graduation at the Theatre Royal in Wakefield. Mr Burdekin was the guest speaker again and we even saw a performance from the Performing Arts pupils at Wakefield College.

All of our children were eager to walk onto the stage to be presented with their certificates.

Well done to all of our children who attended this event and everyone to gaining hours in their passport to learning.

2017 - 2018

On Monday 18th June 2018, a few children, from across the school, attended the annual Children's University Graduation ceremony at the Theatre Royal in Wakefield. Those who attended were very excited before the event and even more so when they heard that Mr Burdekin was to be the guest speaker for the event! During the event, our children were very well behaved and applauded all other participants. This year, we had 8 children receive a variety of awards at the ceremony including 3 children who had been awarded a Fellowship for collecting 1000 hours! A huge well done to Joshua, Emily and Bethany for all the hard work and effort you have put in to the Children's University! You should be very proud that you now join only a small number of other children in the Wakefield Children's University who have been awarded a Fellowship.

A massive well done to everyone who attended the event! You should be very proud of yourselves. As a school, we are very proud of you! Below are just a small number of photographs taken before the event. Once the official photographs have been released, they will be available on our website to look at.

2016 - 2017

On Monday 19th June 2017, children from our school attended the Wakefield Children's University graduation ceremony at the Theatre Royal in Wakefield. They worked really hard to earn enough hours for an award. Well done to all of our graduates!

Below are some of the pictures from the ceremony of the children collecting their award on stage!
